1.General information
The GS1 ScanVortex application has been designed with a strong focus on user privacy. The application does not collect, store, or transmit user data to any external servers owned by the author.
2.Data processing
All operations, including scanning, validation, and code generation, are performed entirely locally on the user's device.
Scan history: Data stored in the history is kept exclusively in the device's internal storage. The author has no access to this data. Uninstalling the application results in permanent deletion of this data.
Data export: Data exported by the user (e.g., to CSV files) is saved in a location chosen by the user.
3.Permissions
Camera: Used solely for scanning codes. No images are recorded or transmitted.
Device storage: Used only to store data generated or exported by the user.
4.Advertising (Google AdMob)
The application uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google may collect and process data in order to serve ads and measure their performance.
Advertising identifier: Google processes the device advertising identifier (AAID). For this purpose the application declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission and the Android advertising services permissions: ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION.
Advertising consent: To collect and remember your choice, the application uses Google's certified consent management platform — the User Messaging Platform (UMP). Where the regulations of your region require it (including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and selected US states), a consent form is shown on first launch. The application does not send an ad request before the consent decision has been resolved.
Storage of your choice: Your choice is remembered and stored on the device by the UMP platform. The application does not keep its own copy of this setting and does not transmit it anywhere else.
Personalised and non-personalised ads: If you give consent, personalised ads may be displayed. If you decline, the application continues to work normally and any ads displayed are non-personalised.
Changing your choice: You can change your choice at any time in the application Settings, under "Ad privacy options". This item is shown where the ability to change your choice is required by regulations.

5.Application updates (Google Play In-App Updates)
The application uses the Google Play update mechanism to check whether a newer version is available. The request is handled by the Play Store application installed on the device. No scan data and no history content is transmitted for this purpose, and neither an application installation identifier nor the advertising identifier is used. If an update is required, the update screen is displayed by the Play Store.
